ACE Mentor of Indiana Scholarship Dinner – May 14, 2014

Good afternoon,

I’m writing to you in regards to the ACE mentor program awards dinner, just 3 weeks away!! ACE is a great program that exposes high school students to the architectural, construction and engineering industry! It’s also a great opportunity for junior construction project managers, architects and engineers as they hone their business development skills. In the AEC industry, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have everyone building relationships and sharing opportunities.

ACE is a national program with an Indianapolis chapter and I have proudly served on the Board of Directors for the last seven years. Our program is designed to get young adults in high school engaged and aware of the construction industry as either:

A = an Architect,
C = a Constructor,
E = an Engineer

We’re firm believers that this program will help our industry, as we are finding it increasingly difficult to back-fill the positions of people retiring. Our industry provides great careers and gives young adults the opportunity to expand into many related fields.

The program is broken into two semesters. The first semester, our high school students will visit mentor firms and jobsites while learning about the many different aspects of our industry. Second semester, students will actually begin to design a project with a pre selected program.

This year the project is a “Middle School of the Future” which will give student the opportunity to look at designs that they can relate to as recent past Middle School students. The program culminates with an award program in May where we give scholarships to the most qualified students. Only students pursuing a degree or vocation in an approved ACE field can utilize the scholarships. Your contribution is assured to support students who are interested in future careers in our industry. ACE is a 100% volunteer organization, so all contributions raised go to the students.

I’m attaching an invite for this year’s program and fact sheet on ACE, but you should have already received a postcard in the mail! Please call or email your reservation or sponsorship! We’d love for you to join us, learn more about the program, help sponsor and hopefully get some of your staff involved as Mentors.

Please join us at the Marriott East, May 14th at 5:00p.m.!

Please contact me or Angie Smitherman, FRP  to further discuss details about opportunities and or how to get involved! It’s not too late to get your logo on all materials and video for the evening’s program! Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Please go to ACEmentor.org and choose Indiana and Indianapolis on the pull down menu for more information!

Sincerely,

Brian Hall
